Words of Wisdom

Last Friday afternoon I was driving South on Evergreen   just    about    to    cross Grand River and...
I saw him!

I saw a man
riding a bike
with only
one
leg
He was doing
it with
such tenacity
and grace
like he never
forgot how
inspite of
his challenge
As he
rotated
the pedal
with his
left foot
there was
no right one
to catch the other
So my eyes
moved slowly
upwards and I
saw a healthy,
content, smooth
faced, strength-on-his-face
man who apparently
did not think
he had
a challenge.

And I said to myself. If he think that with one leg and no frown then how should  I think with two legs and a smile!?

That Friday I found out when things get frustrating for me. Praise God He blesses me daily with 2 legs and a smile and all I need to think about is God.

The Mighty Rushing Wind

I was at church at Prayer Engine on Tuesday of this week. As Pastor G lead the group in a lesson I heard the Spirit of the Lord say wirte a poem like you used to. When I was little I could come up with poetry so fast it would make your head spin. He said your gifts are coming back. Each of my gifts that I received in my childhood are reoccuring. Writing, music, etc. I am so excited God is doing a new thing with me. Here's the poem based on Scripture (I'll look it up, I didn't get that far:)

The Mighty Rushing Wind
The Mighty Rushing Wind of Jesus Christ
Challenges us to live New life
Teaches us to live saved
Shows itself everyday
The Mighty Rushing Wind
Flows like a rivers train
Anointing everything inits way
The Mighty Rushing wWnd
does not hear or see
The Mighty Rushing Wind
Belongs to you and me.

God said, God!

This morning I was sound asleep and in a loud voice, I heard the Lord say, PAM! I woke right up and thought it was my husband calling me from the bathroom shower. After his shower my husband came upstairs I asked him if he had called me. He said no. Who was it I asked  myself? God said, God! I love you Lord. I heard you loud and clear.

Letter on the first session

Hi Darlene,

Thank you! For taking time out of your schedule to offer this class. I am so happy to be a part of it. I haven't been in a writing class since college. Today was very special. Getting to know what other writers are reading is very important and Praise God! You had a HUGE turn out this morning!  I also learned and understood the types of readers other writers are and who/what they like to write/read about. Reading and writing are so closely linked. When you do one the other will follow. I expect to be able to get ideas to help me finally get my books of the ground. I want to be able to finish writing them, complete them, and publish them. I guess I am a social writer. Topics that I like, God of course, relationships, marriage and single, youth issues, things to celebrate/ my audience is young people, families, friends, people who love themselves and want to love themselves and others and maybe don't understand love. That is a mixture of some of everybody. I'm certainly excited! Can't wait til next week.
